Western Balkans Urban Agriculture Initiative

THE PROJECT

BUGI plans to develop interdisciplinary master study curriculum and Life Long Learning program in urban agriculture in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo with the help from EU partners co-financed by EC Erasmus+ KA2 Programme. New curriculum will utilize ICT tools & virtual knowledge community to enhance modernization and ICT competences fostering regional HEIs cooperation in the area of urban agriculture in WB countries. Project outcomes will propose innovative approaches to agriculture, have positive impact on poverty reduction, self employment, biodiversity and ecology and food carbon footprint thus promoting sustainable development, urban resilience and green economy in WB.​

OUR GOALS

FOR WB SOCIETY

To conduct campaigns to promote urban agriculture and to exploit project outcomes for development of urban policies and strategies in collaboration with local authorities

FOR BUSINESS SECTOR

To enhance urban sustainability and green economy development in WB countries with inclusion of entrepreneurial sector and farmers by proposing new business models and revenue oriented strategies in urban agriculture

FOR STUDENTS/TRAINEES

To conduct campaigns to promote urban agriculture and to exploit project outcomes for development of urban policies and strategies in collaboration with local authorities

FOR PROJECT WB UNIVERSITIES

To enhance WB universities visibility and capacity to deliver more attractive education and trainings in line with WB countries needs according to the best European practices
